On this and the following pages, I've tried to avoid listing living people. If you see Descendants Living, that means the next generation has living people. I wanted to show which branches have continued to the present day, but at the same time preserve people's privacy.
If you see anything wrong here, or if you want anything added, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Maryland was home to many Ruark families. One of these was John and Mary Ruark, who lived and raised their family there around the 1730's - 1740's. Their son, Shadrack Ruark, was born here, but seems to have moved his family to Ohio.
Ezekiel Ruark had a large family in Worcester County in the mid-1700's. At least part of this family moved to Lewis County, Kentucky, prior to the 1830's.
Another branch of the Ruark family also resided in Worcester County. Although I don't yet have many dates for this family, Joshua Ruark and his son, John Lemuel Ruark raised their families there in the late 1800's.
There were also some early Maryland families I've been unable to locate in any individual county. To see these, please go to Early Maryland.
