On this and the following pages, I've tried to avoid listing living people. If you see Descendants Living, that means the next generation has living people. I wanted to show which branches have continued to the present day, but at the same time preserve people's privacy.
If you see anything wrong here, or if you want anything added, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Shadrack and Sarah (Hall) Ruark had lived and started their family in Ohio, but had moved to Illinois around 1845. Shadrack died in Lawrence County in 1846, but most of the family seems to have been associated with Richland County.
Shadrack's daughter Elizabeth Ruark and her husband, James Rawlings had moved to Richland County before her death, which occurred before 1870. At least one of their children were married here, and several passed away here in Richland County.
Shadrack's son, Reason Ruark married Mary Jane Banks. Reason began his family in Geauga County, OH, but had moved to Edwards County, Illinois, and then to Richland County, Illinois. Reason Ruark was also one of several husbands of Elizabeth Hurst.
