The Joseph William Ruark family of Putnam Co., IN
Joseph William Ruark was the son of Thomas and Rachel (Hays) Ruark. He was born in
Pulaski County, Kentucky, but moved to Marion County, Indiana when he was only 3 years
old. He followed his parents, and most of his brothers and sisters to Putnam County,
Indiana in 1861.
Joseph William Ruark (1834KY-1893IN) married (1) Mary Day (1840IN-1861) in 1855. She must have passed away shortly after the move rather than before, as she's buried in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Putnam County along with Joseph and Louisa.

Joseph William Ruark (1834KY-1893IN) married (2) Louisa J. Farmer (1834IN-1900) in 1862.
- Tighlman R. Ruark (1862IN- ) - md Addie Frances (1863- ) around 1885. By 1900 they owned a home in Franklin Township of Hendricks County, and all 5 children were living with them. Tighlman was a dry goods merchant.
