Peter was born in Maryland, according to his son Thomas, as seen in the 1880 census. From the reported birthplaces for his children, he lived in North Carolina for a while, possibly in Caswell County, and then moved with his father and brother to Pulaski County. This move would have happened very near the beginning of the 1800's. Peter apparently passed away between 1850 and 1860, probably in Pulaski County. No will or cemetery record has been found for him, Milkah, or Elizabeth. Milkah is believed to have been born in North Carolina.
