Ruark's Realty of Okanogan County, Washington

Early in his married life, Doyle Ruark lived with his family in Tonasket, Okanogan County, Washington. He'd owned a barber shop there, and then became a realtor. For a while his building had a barber shop on one side, a public office on the other side, a private office behind, and a space that could be used as a beauty shop (which is what his wife did early on). The family even lived in the basement for some years!

These pictures come from a photo postcard from downtown Tonasket Washington, showing a building with the sign "Ruark's Realty". The picture appears to have been taken around 1950, judging from the cars. The Ruark Realty building, built shortly after World War II is still standing and currently houses an insurance company. The bank across the street is now U.S. Bank.
