The Ruark Families of Morgan County, Georgia

On this and the following pages, I've tried to avoid listing living people. If you see Descendants Living, that means the next generation has living people. I wanted to show which branches have continued to the present day, but at the same time preserve people's privacy.

If you see anything wrong here, or if you want anything added, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

A large, prolific Ruark clan resides in Morgan County, started by Lemuel Ruark who moved here before 1811 from Maryland. Most of his descendants stayed in Morgan County, but a few have traveled around the state. His son, Berry Anderson Ruark, began his family in 1837, and they remained in Morgan County. Berry's son, George Marcellus Ruark, had a large family, most of whom remained in Morgan County except for Pack Columbus Ruark, who moved around quite a bit.

Lemuel's daughter, Susan Frances Ruark married Henry George Wagnon and also had a large family in Morgan County.
