The John M. Ruark family of Walla Walla Co. and Garfield Co. Washington
John M. Ruark (1835IN-1922) married
Elizabeth Ruark (1833-1911), his first cousin. They started
their family in Wayne County, Iowa, but joined John's brother
Thomas and arrived with 20 other ox teams in Walla Walla,
Washington, in 1862. In the spring of 1880 they moved to Garfield County and homesteaded
land.
