Henry Ruark was born in Dorchester County in 1780, but had moved to Caswell County, North Carolina by the time he was married in 1816. He later moved to Tennessee, and then to Spencer County, Indiana.
Any web search for the Ruark name will lead you to many links about the ship "The Rebecca T. Ruark". A little more searching uncovered the woman after which the ship is named. Rebecca Parker married into a nautical branch of the Ruark family.
Another family lived here, headed by William Freddie Ruark and William Washington Ruark. Brothers?
