The Rice B. Ruark Family of White County, Arkansas
Rice B. Ruark (1842KY-1912OK) was born in Mason County,
Kentucky, the son of Daniel Ruark and Charity Hoffman. He married Catherine Shaw in
Kentucky and their first 4 children were born there, but by 1871 they had moved to
Arkansas. Catherine had two children there, and passed away in White County, Arkansas
in 1878. Rice had also been a soldier in the Civil War, in Company A, 45th Kentucky
Infantry.

Rice then married Matilda Frances Nelson (1847GA-1932OK), and she had 4 children
before the family moved to Fannin County, Texas, around 1887. Their last child was
born in Fannin County. By Rice's death in 1912 he and Matilda had moved to Murray County,
Oklahoma. Matilda passed away there in 1932. Rice is buried in the Oaklawn Cemetery
in Murray County.

- Cora Ellen Ruark (1882AR-@1854TX) - md Joseph William Youree (1878TN-1938TX) in
1904 in Hunt County, Texas, and remained there until around 1910. She had been
was born in White County, AR, and died in Wichita County, TX.
- Theo Edwin Youree (1905TX-1985TX) - born in Hunt County
- Joseph William Youree Jr. (1918TX-1993TX) - born in Wichita County
- Ada Florence Ruark (1884AR-1971TX) - md Otis Burdell Stephens in 1901 in Fannin Co.,
Texas. She was born in White County, Arkansas, but had been moved to Fannin County
when she was a child. They had (at least) their first two children there.
Sometime between 1903 - 1914 they moved to Murray County, Oklahoma. They had a
total of 7 children. She died in Bexar Co., TX. - Descendants Living
- John Minzo Ruark (1885AR-1976TX) - md Bessie Dees in 1908 in TX -
He was born in White Co., and died in Dallas. -Descendants Living
- Myrtle Pearl Ruark (1888TX-1905TX) - born & died in Fannin County.
