William Ruark (1802MD-1876MO) was born in Worcester County, Maryland, and was there married to Priscilla Johnson ( MD-1838) in 1824. Shortly after the wedding, he and Priscilla moved to Ripley Co., IN, where they had 5 children. The family lived there (in Franklin Township) from before 1830 until at least 1839. At least one tract of land was purchased in Ripley County on 3 Dec 1935 (book 1, pg 63)

  • Mollie Ruark - md Andrew Jackson Friar (1863MO-1937), brother of William Riley Friar. They were married on 7 May 1893. After his mother's death, Andrew bought her farm with the house built by his father in 1896. This farm was well adapted to stock raising, being well watered by Tumback Creek, and produces bluegrass in abundance. He makes a specialty of short-horn cattle and Shropshire sheep, and annually raises a large number of hogs. A gasoline engine was utilized in pumping water, washing, and operating other farm machinery.
