Harrison Ruark (1844KY-1918KY) was born in Mason County, Kentucky, the son of Daniel Ruark and Charity Hoffman. He was a soldier in the Civil War, in the 2nd KY Cavalry, 45th Regiment. After the end of the war he moved to Putnam County. He met there a woman named Martha J. Sellers (1838IN- ), and they were wed on 7 March 1870. Martha was the daughter of John Crawford Sellers and Fanny Brown. By the time of the 1900 census Harrison and Martha had 3 children, two of whom were still living. Martha passed away at home, 19 Apr 1909. Harrison passed away there in the town of Greencastle on 29 March 1918.
