Last Will and Testament of Reason Ruark Sr., deceased In the name of God Amen. I Reason Ruark of the County of Richland and State of Illinois, being of sound mind and memory and knowing the uncertainties of life do hereby make and declare this my Last Will and Testament in witness and form following, to wit: First, it is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid. Second, after the payment of my funeral expenses and just debts I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Elizabeth Ruark, one third of all my personal estate of whatsoever, consisting of goods, chattels, monies and credits to be used and enjoyed by her during her natural life. Third, I give and devise unto my son, Reason P. Ruark, the sum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars in addition to the sum of Five Hundred Dollars which I had heretofore given to him. Fourth, I give and devise unto Anna R. Ruark, Reason N. Ruark, George B. McClellan Ruark, my grandchildren, the sum of One Hundred Dollars cash to be paid to them as they each become of lawful age. Fifth, I give and devise unto George N. Ruark, my son, Mathilda Rawlings, Celia David, Euphemia Lambaugh, Elizabeth Geisler and Shadrack Ruark, my sons and daughters, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars each. Sixth, I give and bequeath unto James Warfield, Elizabeth Wilson, Euphemia Pittman, Ellison Madden, Mathilda Warfield, Reason H. Warfield, Mary Warfield, Phoebe Emily Warfield, my grandchildren, the children of Rebecca Warfield, deceased, Five Hundred Dollars, their mother's portion, to be divided equally between them, share and share alike. Seventh, I give and devise to my daughter, Emma Jane Ruark, daughter of my present wife, Elizabeth Ruark, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars. Eighth, I give and devise the residue of my estate, of every kind and nature, not heretofore devised if any, to all my children surviving me or their children, share and share alike. And in case I should not leave estate enough to pay all the bequests made herein and hereby, it is my will that they be paid pro rata, out of my estate as far as it goes. Ninth, and lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my friend, Jacob Berry, executor of this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and annulling all former wills by me made and ratified and conforming this and others to be my Last Will and Testament in witness thereof. I am said Reason Ruark Senior and have set my hand and seal this 28th day of August, A.D. 1873.
