Jacob Leafeat Ruark (1836IL- ) married Olive Butler (1843IN- ). They were living in Lawrence County, Illinois in 1880, and were ennumerated in the census there. Jacob's father was Fevey Flint Ruark (see below), but I don't know anything about him. This was shown in a family bible - is it possible that this was actually "Phoebe"? See below!

The Jacob in this family would match up nicely to our Jacob Leafeat Ruark, and he's in the right place at the right time. Is it the same one? According to another source, this William Ruark was born in Ohio, and died 1855 in Richland County. He married Phoebe on 6 May 1934 in Illinois, and might be a son of Shadrack Ruark Jr.
