Delilah Ruark was born in Maryland on June 30, 1779. She married John R. Stanford (1778MO-1861MS) there on 20 Sep 1798. John was the son of Joshua Stanford and Mary Rook, and was born in Dorchester Co., MD and passed away in Marion Co., MS. They had moved to Warren County, Georgia by June of 1801 where their first 8 children were born.

They had moved again, this time to Mississippi, around 1817. From the dates, it looks like they moved to Perry County, and then on to Marion County sometime before 1860.
